Mike has been a professional fly fishing guide for 25 years. He was the head guide at the Lodge at Palisades Creek for seven years and head trainer at World Cast Anglers for 10 years. Mike is a 4 time Jackson Hole One Fly Idaho Top Guide Award winner and an Orvis Signature Fly Tyer. Mike was born and raised in a fly fishing family. His dad was well known for both his fly fishing and fly tying. He was featured in several fly fishing books. He developed fly patterns for the near by spring creeks and rivers. He loved the outdoors and was an avid angler and he had Mike hooked from an early age.
Mike started guiding during his college summer breaks on the South Fork of the Snake River. After earning his degree in Biology/Ecology, he couldn’t give up his passion for guiding. He loved teaching new anglers and helping experienced anglers relax and catch more fish. Since making his decision to become a full time guide, Mike hasn’t looked back. He has successfully guided on numerous rivers over the years, where he has help people catch fish and have fun.
Over the years Mike has been fortunate to call rivers, streams and lakes his office. His clients come from all over the country, to fish with him year around. Mike actively fishes several Northern California waters and the South Fork of the Snake in Idaho. When Mike is not on the water, he lives in Rocklin, California with his wife Melissa and their two kids, Karly and Bobby.
